New Jersey Incentives

  • Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI) Program

This program includes the Administratively Determined Incentive (ADI), providing fixed incentives for solar generation. Residential net-metered systems up to 5 megawatts can receive $85 per megawatt-hour of solar energy produced for 15 years.

  • Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs)

Homeowners can earn SRECs for each megawatt-hour of solar electricity their system generates. These certificates can be sold to utility companies, offering an additional revenue stream.

  • Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

Homeowners installing solar panels can claim a federal tax credit of up to 30% of the system's cost. This credit is available for systems installed through 2032, with a gradual reduction thereafter.

  • Sales Tax Exemption

Purchases of solar energy equipment in New Jersey are exempt from the state's sales tax, providing immediate cost savings.

  • Property Tax Exemption

Installing a solar system will not increase your property taxes, even though it may enhance your property's value.
